Philosophy professor buys 4BD in Schuylkill

Medium 17dedff22c30cb159492e484f6f54273 Michael C. Weisberg and Deena S. Weisberg bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhome at 2334 Catherine St. in Philadelphia from Matthew Benigno for $425,000 on Oct. 28.

Benigno bought the property for $200,000 in Dec. 2007. The 2,156-square-foot house was built in 1915 in the Schuylkill neighborhood.

Mr. Weisberg is a philosophy professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

He also is a faculty fellow at Fisher-Hassenfeld College and a faculty affiliate at the Institute for Research in Cognitive Science and the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience.

He received a B.S. in chemistry and B.A. in philosophy from the University of California-San Diego in 1999. He obtained his master's and doctorate degrees in philosophy from Leland Stanford Junior University in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

Ms. Weisberg is a post-doctoral research associate at Rutgers University.

She received her B.S. in symbolic systems from Stanford in 2003 and went to Yale University for her M.S. (2005), M.Phil. (2006), and Ph.D. (2008) in psychology.
