Dr. Janaki Meyappan sold the two-bedroom, two-bath condo Unit #1401 at 2001 Hamilton St. in Fairmount to Dorothy L. Shurman for $328,000 on Sept. 10.

Meyappan paid $325,000 for the property in July 2006. The 978-square-foot condo was built in 1970.

Dr. Meyappan is an anesthesiologist who has practiced at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.

She previously was a faculty adviser for hydroxyurea and sickle sell diseases in the department of anthropology at the University of Emory in Georgia. Before that, she was a resident member of the Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologist.

She received her M.D. from the State University of New York - Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn in 2005.

The condo is in the Cityview Condominium, a high-rise condo also known as Buttonwood Square, located in the Art Museum area.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 46 condo sales in Fairmount during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $315,000.
